Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Today on our 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty, we're going to be doing a test fit on the 23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier for 2" hitches only. The nice thing about this cargo carrier is that it has these walls all the way around that clip together in order to make sure that you can get your cargo in here, but you don't have to worry about tying it down nearly as much to make sure that it stays contained. This is very handy because it'll give you a good idea of exactly how much you can fit. Now, this cargo carrier does have a 450 lb capacity. It's got a steel mesh floor down here on the bottom in order to help make sure that dirt and debris falls through and doesn't collect so that it can get onto the bottom of your cargo. Let's take a few measurements. First, we'll take ground clearance here at the back of the cargo carrier. We're sitting right about 23" there. more

It's got these braces here that come along either end and those are going to help to give it a 300-pound capacity. Now let's take some measurements. First we'll do ground clearance at the back of the carrier and at the bottom of that bolt, we're looking right about 20 1/4 inches. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Today, on our 2014 Ford F350 Super Duty, we're going to be test fitting the Maxxtow 20X47 cargo carrier, part number MT70108. Now, this is an aluminum cargo carrier for 2-inch hitches. We'll start out test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our vehicle. This particular hitch that's on this truck, it comes factory with a 2 1/2 inch hitch and it's got the 2-inch adapter. We're not only lining up the hitch pinholes when we insert our rack, we're also lining up the holes for the adapter. It helps if you can slide this in straight without losing that adapter but it's pretty impossible to do. Since I pushed that adapter back, I feel back here, you can feel where it comes out the backside of the hitch tubing. more

Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Today on our 2014 Ford F-350 Super Duty we're going to be test fitting the Curt 24-by-60 cargo carrier, part number C18153. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our vehicle. So you want to find a good way to pick it up that you can try to go straight into this hitch, only because it comes standard with a 2-inch hitch or 2 1/2-inch factory and it's got the hitch adapter in there. So if you don't insert the product straight on, it's really easy to slide that adapter back, which I just did. And then you have to try to line it up again. It can be a little difficult. So line up the hitch pin holes, and then you'll insert your pin and clip. more
